Madrid-based Spanish company Uriel Renovables has entered environmental processing for a new solar park located in the La Ligua-Papudo municipalities, Petorca province, Valparaíso region.
The project will have a nominal power of 140.83 MW and will provide approximately 105 MW of energy to the National Electric System through a 220 kV high-voltage evacuation line. The park will involve an investment of $116 million.
For energy production, 201,188 photovoltaic modules of 700 Wp each will be used. Each panel will be mounted on a solar tracking structure with a north-south axis, covering an area of 161.24 hectares.
Additionally, the construction of support infrastructure is considered, including a stepping-up substation to raise the generated energy's voltage to 220 kV, a set of lithium-ion energy storage batteries of the BESS (Battery Energy System Storage) type, an approximately 16.73 km long 220 kV overhead high-voltage transmission line supported by 59 towers.
The project also involves a 420-meter stretch of underground transmission line, which will be buried upon reaching the connection point where a tower will be installed, totaling 60 support structures. The entire transmission line will connect the Casas Viejas Stepping-Up Substation to the Doña Carmen Stepping-Up Substation.
