Compañía Minera del Pacífico (CMP) and Mogotes Metals Inc. have entered into a strategic alliance to explore and develop copper and gold deposits in the renowned Vicuña Mining District, spanning territories in both Chile and Argentina. This collaboration secures 1,303 hectares of mining concessions in Filo Sur, enhancing access to high-quality mineral resources in one of the region's most promising areas.
The partnership integrates advanced technologies, such as WorldView-3 satellite processing and state-of-the-art geophysical tools, ensuring efficient and sustainable exploration. These innovations will enable the identification and development of mineral deposits with greater precision, setting a new benchmark for mining in the region.
CMP CEO Francisco Carvajal emphasized that this agreement represents a significant step in the company’s diversification into copper and gold. “This collaboration not only expands our resource portfolio but also reinforces our commitment to sustainability and positions Chile as a global leader in responsible mining,” he said.
Mogotes Metals Inc., in turn, has secured a critical position within the Vicuña Metallogenic Belt, now controlling approximately 10,000 hectares of strategic concessions. Mogotes CEO Allen Sabet highlighted the importance of this acquisition: “This agreement grants us decisive control over the extensions of the prolific Filo del Sol corridor, renowned for its high potential in copper, gold, and silver.”
The newly acquired land package is strategically located near Filo Corp.’s properties, where recent drilling results have shown promising outcomes. This positions Mogotes to focus its exploration efforts on priority targets such as Meseta and Cumbre, areas that have yet to undergo systematic exploration.
This agreement benefits not only the companies involved but also the local communities and regional economy. The partnership is expected to create new jobs and promote sustainable development, aligning with global sustainability goals in mining.
