A trade agreement aiming to enhance dust suppression services for Peruvian mining companies has been formed by the Chilean technology company Ceibo and the heavy equipment firm Komatsu-Mitsui Maquinaria Perú (KMMP). This partnership will allow the combination of synergies and address the demands of companies in that country.
In the first phase, through this alliance, both companies will contribute their operational experience to offer comprehensive dust suppression and water-saving services, aspects that are highly sensitive in any global mining operation.
Since both issues are key to sustainable management, this agreement seeks to help companies develop more sustainable mining through comprehensive management that allows for more economical and environmentally respectful extraction.
The agreement entails that Ceibo will contribute with the manufacturing of the dust suppressor, specialized technical advice for the design of irrigation plans, engineering, and results reporting, while KMMP will handle logistical aspects such as transportation, machinery, and human resources.
"At Ceibo, we work to make mining a greener industry, and this alliance will allow us to support Peruvian companies in managing their sustainability challenges through Ceibo's and KMMP's excellent and innovative services," says Nicolás Montes, CEO of Ceibo.
Meanwhile, Komatsu Mitsui highlights that, from their sustainability strategy, they promote various projects aimed at improving their processes to make their operations increasingly environmentally friendly.
"At KMMP, we are committed to conducting our operations sustainably, so this agreement contributes to the well-being and development of our stakeholders. Our management allows us to be recognized as a company committed to its environment and responsible for the impacts generated by our operations," adds Julio Molina, CEO of Komatsu-Mitsui.
Ceibo is a mining technology company founded in Chile, developing advanced technologies to contribute to the industry's goal of increasing copper and other critical minerals production, executing more sustainable operations through a combination of science, engineering, and operational excellence.
It operates contracts in Chile's most important mining sites, providing clients with comprehensive road management services: irrigation plans based on real-time information and data intelligence, online reports, and preparation and application of Ceibo's dust suppressor on roads and other particulate matter emission sources.
The company is also developing technologies for the leaching of primary sulfides. Recently, it closed a $30 million Series B capital raising round, led by the North American fund 'Energy Impact Partners', one of the world's most important venture capitals in financing decarbonization projects.
Komatsu-Mitsui is a socially responsible company, providing comprehensive solutions and post-sale service for the mining and construction sectors (sale and service of yellow machinery, generation equipment, and engines).
Currently, KMMP serves the Peruvian market through a network of 22 branches and stores. It offers support with personnel stationed at Peru's major mines and major construction companies.
KMMP has KMMP Amazonía and Distribuidora Cummins Perú as subsidiary companies.
