Germany seeks to strengthen its presence at Exponor 2024

Offering innovations, new technologies, equipment, and more to meet the needs of the mining and energy industry is part of the offering that Exponor 2024 will bring.

With confirmation from 50 companies already, making it the second largest delegation after China that will be present from June 3 to 6 in Antofagasta and the first to be completed, Germany is preparing its participation in EXPONOR 2024, a number that could increase in terms of exhibitors, given the high demand from German companies to attend.

"We currently have over 1000 square meters and more than 50 exhibitors for this version of EXPONOR, making it one of the largest Country Pavilions. This high demand is due to the great interest that German suppliers have in Chile and vice versa. Germany is a key technology provider for various national industries, with mining and energy certainly being key sectors in this regard," said Iris Wunderlich, Project Leader Mining & Sustainability | AHK Chile, German-Chilean Chamber of Commerce, organizers of the Germany Pavilion.

According to Wunderlich, the high interest in participating is due to the ideal geographical conditions that our country presents, "being optimal for renewable generation and for developing a green hydrogen industry, as well as having the geological conditions for the sustainable development of mineral resources necessary for global energy transition and decarbonization." 

Key Role

Under this logic, Germany and its companies play a significant role in driving the energy transition, making available innovative technologies and solutions, positioning themselves as leaders in the mining-energy development.

To continue along this path, emphasizes the executive in charge of the pavilion, the European giant requires the mineral resources that Chile is capable of providing, such as lithium, in order to continue promoting new storage and electromobility technologies. "Thus, a natural connection is established, with virtuous synergies between both countries. Therefore, the German industry happily accepts Chile's invitation, and especially that of EXPONOR, to further deepen ties in 2024," she concludes.

Thus, German suppliers, who traditionally offer high-quality products for solving technological challenges, see EXPONOR as an ideal platform to showcase new technologies, machinery, equipment, and highly specialized, efficient, and safe technological solutions for the mining and/or energy industry, where sustainability and efficiency, whether energy or water-related, seek to contribute to a more sustainable mining industry.
